EVENT RECAP | Trials: Issue 03 Launch Party

When Erin, Katrina, and I started flo. in September of 2021, it was more of a hypothetical concept than a grounded idea. We published the first issue during the last COVID-related lockdown, with the noise of the truck convoy in the background, and a humble vision for what flo. can offer to the literary community in Ottawa. Since then, we’ve published two more issues, altogether having featured writing and art by over fifty people, and grown our team to include Jen and Salem.

The energy in the room at our Issue 03 Launch Party a couple weeks ago was, I think, the first time I felt the tangibility of what flo. does and is. People came together to share their writing and hear each other read, to create a safe space and maintain the intimate atmosphere that Art House Cafe offers. We’re looking forward to the continuation of flo., to seeing how and where it grows. Thank you to everyone that has been part of our journey.

On that note, enjoy this photo dump of our event!
