About

Who We Are

flo. is a literary magazine dedicated to publishing short stories, creative nonfiction, and poetry by writers residing in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. flo. aims to highlight the intersections and divergences of experiences of people in one geographic region.

Ottawa-Gatineau sits at the intersection of three great rivers and two provinces, all the while existing as a liminal space between two of the biggest Canadian cities. It marks a place of communion, transition and fluidity. With each issue, flo. attempts to capture the ebb and flow of an ever changing city and the people who live in it: we aim to celebrate its charm while acknowledging its shortcomings.

flo. publishes in print semiannually, and online monthly. See our submission guidelines to be featured.

flo. is lovingly edited, designed, produced, and marketed by a team of independent creators.
